Douglas-fir tussock moth is a cyclical pest in British Columbia. Following the termination of the last outbreak in 1976, nuclear polyhedrosis virus has been produced and stockpiled in anticipation of further outbreaks. A small outbreak was detected this year and it is tentatively planned to used virus in 1981 in an attempt to suppress this outbreak.
