Many States in the country's northeastern quadrant are looking toward their forest resources as a means of stimulating economic activity. Ideas for development are presented in this collection of case studies, which represent 10 states and include examples of diverse processing types and levels of both inducstrial and consumer products. An attempt has been made to address the opportunities and the problems of forest-resource-based economic development.
