Forest managers need and accurate economical method of studying conifer regeneration in disturbed areas. Large scale aerial photography can provide a method that's less expensive and more accurate than the traditional ground survey. In this study, the accuracies of surveys using three scales of color infrared aerial photography to assess regeneration stocking were tested over three categories of regenerating sites.
