- Clifford, Ralph E. (Coordinator)
In 1972, the U. S. Forest Service showed its concern over the budworm build-up in Maine by agreeing to aid in the funding of a study of the problem and the development of a spruce budworm salvage plan. In early 1973, the Maine Forest Service advertised for bids for a person with forest management background to serve as coordinator for this 16 month study. The decision was made to confine this study to those areas which received spray treatment in 1972. The Ashland block includes an area of 368,75O acres. The Square Lake block covers an area of 143,750 acres. The following is a report of the selected coordinator.
