Each year the Entomology Division of the Maine Forest Service conducts large scale spruce budworm insecticidal testing and evaluation. This document, attempts to standardize procedures of sampling and analysis in order that Information will be more consistent from year to year. Further, by supplying a copy of these guidelines to independent contractors hired by the Maine Forest Service, resulting studies will be insured of useful comparison and integration. It is important that Stale field crews and/or contractors thoroughly understand and follow these guidelines in an effort to maximize the amount of useful information gained by each insecticidal test.
