In 1987, Forest Protection Limited (FPL) applied insecticides aerially to 478 300 ha of spruce budworm (Choristoneura fumiferana (Clem.)) infested forest land in New Brunswick. This represents only a slight decrease from the 496 000 ha treated in 1986.
