Goal(s)/Objective(s): To understand how changing weather and climate could impact visitors in the Katahdin region by conducting visitor surveys.
Key Findings: Approximately 50% of respondents for both surveys ranked the expected weather as either very important or important in selecting BSP or the Katahdin region as their destination
Recommendation: Visitors to Baxter State Park and the Katahdin region may be receptive to climate change information, studies conducted in the park, or management actions taken to address the impacts that climate change may have in the area

Goal(s)/Objective(s): Better understand how changing weather and climate could impact visitors on Mount Desert Island by conducting visitor surveys
Key Findings: The importance of expected weather, particularly if climate predictions hold true, could deter visitors to MDI.
Recommendation: Visitors may be accepting of management actions taken to address impacts of climate change.

LiDAR and Forestry: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Directions

Problem Addressed: Discuss some of the opportunities of using LiDAR for forestry
Goal(s)/Objective(s): Explain what LiDAR is and why it is useful
Key Findings: LiDAR is a powerful technology but has some important limitations that should be reocgnized
Recommendation: Continued acquisition of LiDAR and research will be needed to see full utilization of this technology
