The Toxic Chemicals Section of Forest Pest Management Institute carried out a number of studies such as methods development, persistence, distribution, mode of degradation, cycling and stability on a number of insecticides and their adjuvants used in insect control programs in Canada to generate data on their usefulness, compatibility, biological consequences and overall environmental safety. Primary areas of interest have been fundamental chemistry of the materials used and their hemodynamics and interaction with various elements present in different components of the environment.
