This 1974 reports on spruce and fir stands clearcut between 1930 and 1955 that were measured for total and merchantable volume production. Results indicate poor tree distribution and a low merchantable volume by stand age forty. Spruce stands have produced lower volumes than fir stands. Intensive silvicultural programs are considered necessary to improve growth.
