One of the limiting factors to the successful use of B.T. against the forest insect defoliation is relatively low deposit efficiency of water based formulations. Considerable evaporation of droplets emitted from the aircraft takes place with highly water diluted formulations resulting in spray drift and consequent loss of spray material before it reaches the feeding site.
