Cell and Tissue Culture of White Spruce and Jack Pine-A method to obtain large quantities of living, Free cells of white spruce (Picea Galuca (Moench) voss) and Jack Pine (Pinus banksianna Lamb) has been developed. The method shows promise for providing an assay system using free conifer cells whereby physiologically active substances such as growth regulators or herbicides may be added to the medium and tested for their activity in terms of cell division.
