The purpose of this review is to provide a critical evaluation of the impact of diflubenzuron or Dimilin to the total environment.
A brief review of the literature suggest that some aquatic organisms appear to be quite sensitive to Dimilin treatments while others are not. In addition, there are different conclusions from different laboratories concerning the "safe-use" level of Dimilin. The reasons for these differences need to be clarified. It is particularly evident from the literature that there is a paucity of data on the ecological parameters that govern the behavior of organisms in a pulsed environment.
