The problem of implementing a more refined spraying program for control of spruce budworm damage in Maine is discussed. Present spray operation procedures are reviewed and suggestions are made for dealing with the problems inherent in each stage. Improvements in spray block planning and guidance methods offer great potential for overall refinement. Suggestions for improvement are made in view of aircraft and personnel capabilities.
