Abstract:
Wood losses caused by spruce budworm epidemics induced the Insect and Disease Protection Service of the Quebec Ministry of Energy and Resources to develop a preventive approach as a supplementary tool to aerial insecticide applications, in order o reduce losses caused by this insect. The fundamentals of this approach and its integration into forest management practices are presented.
