This report presents a review of brush-cutting equipment for forestry purposes, primarily for conditions in central and eastern Canada' Both integral machines and brush-cutting attachments are reviewed. Brush cutters can be used for stand clearing (conversion, rehabilitation), spot site preparation, slash reduction and early stand tending (plantation cleaning, precommercial thinning).
