Ten year results of thinning 14-, 19- and 23-year-old aspen stands to spacing of 8'x8', 10'x10' and 12'x12' foot spacing in the Riding Mountain National Park, Manitoba indicate that, with thinning to a 12 X 12-foot spacing, the rotation necessary for the production of veneer bolts will be shortened by about 10 years. Thinning to a 12 X 12-foot spacing resulted in the greatest board-foot volume.
