The study objective is to evaluate the impact of the spruce budworm, Choristoneura fumiferana (Clem.), on the growth of the forests of Maine. This report gives an analysis of growth and mortality on trees measured on 417 plots in 1980. A comparison is also made between the annual growth of the survivor trees and the mortality that occurred during 1976 and 1980.
