- O'Neal, Jerry
Environmental Geenery
At the Request of the Maine Department of Conservation, Bureau of Forestry, a study was initiated to physically characterize several formulations of two chemical insecticides to be used this year on the spruce budworm Protection Program and to examine various Bacillus thuringiensis formulations. Several of these materials were compared using conventional flat fan nozzles versus rotary atomizing nozzles using a fixed-wing airplane. The data was gathered to support the Maine Spruce Budworm Spray Program with respect to selected swath widths, VMD's, meteorological spray conditions, and coverage at finished spray volumes. Participants were representatives of Abbott Labs, Sandoz, Inc., Biochem Products, Mobay Chemical, Union Carbide, USDA Forest Service, Maine Forest Service, Precision Air Services and Environmental Greenery
