The objective of the investigations reported here was to locate, if possible, the cause of an abnormal condition in the moose of Nova Scotia. This condition has been called moose "sickness" or moose "disease." Previous studies have been made of a similar entity in he moose of Minnesota and Maine. No causative agency was found. The scope of these earlier studies was confined to the study of individual animals. The results suggested to the present author the possibility that further results might be achieved if the scope of the present work was broadened to include at least some of the ecological relationships of the moose with its environment over the years.
