Abstract:
Correspondence of Dwight B. Demeritt, including letters to Demeritt about accepting a position at the University of Maine in August 1933 after the passing of John Briscoe, about royalties from his book Elements of Forest Mensuration, co-authored with H. H. Chapman, and his role with Eastern Corporation of Bangor, Maine.
Just to be clear, the email and note card at end of this collection didn’t go to Dwight. They went to his grandson (email) and his son (note card). I assume these letters came to UMaine from one of those two. An interesting look at the inner-workings of filling the position after Briscoe’s passing.
Yes, thanks for the clarification Jake. We are working on uploading correspondence to and from Dwight with various School of Forestry faculty members.
