That forest insect outbreaks can be controlled, and in many cases prevented, is an established fact. The average annual loss, from forest insects, which is many times that caused bit fire, can in a large measure be eliminated. Our knowledge of forest insects and their method of work is still like a vast forest awaiting exploration. The acquisition of public lands and the need of protecting our wood using industries, our fish and game, and our recreational advantages call for an aggressive pubic support for forest protection in all its aspects.
