Aerial Spraying in New Brunswick was Undertaken as an emergency measure in 1952 to protect the extensive and valuable pulpwood forests of northern New Brunswick from serious damage by the current spruce budworm outbreak. The paper reviews the history of chemical control measures against this insect in North America and describes the policies and assessment techniques adopted in New Brunswick.
