This Advanced Forest Herbicides Course promises to be a logical and significant extension to the cautious history of herbicide use in Canada. Participants should leave the course with a better understanding of the chemistry of forest herbicides, of the variation found in herbicidal efficacy and environmental impacts, of the regulations that govern their use, of better ways of consulting with,the forest stakeholders and with an improved understanding of the best possible methods to apply them. In short they should be equipped to better evaluate and develop vegetation management programs using both herbicides and alternatives.
