Two different application rates of Sumithion 8E was aerially applied to a series of spruce-fir plots in northern Maine to obtain additional environmental impact data. The data from this test will be used in support of federal registration for the use of Sumithion 8E for control of eastern spruce budworm. Due to the late date (June 23rd) that this test was carried out no data on larval mortality was obtained. The application rates tested were: (a) 3 oz AI of Sumithion 8E in 29 oz. of water applied once at a rate of 32 oz. per acre; and (b) two applications of 2 oz. AI of Sumithion 8E on 30 oz. of water applied at the rate of 32 oz. per acre.
