Converting factors designed to convert cords of four-foot pulpwood to cubic feet of solid wood may be determined in various ways. A common method is to measure the end diameters of each stick in a measured pile. This method was used to determine converting factors in a series of utilization studies carried out by the Dominion Forest Service on the Green River Management Area during the past summer.
