The capabilities of Brazil, Portugal, Thailand and Pakistan to manufacture eucalyptus market pulp were compared and contrasted in this study. Overall, Brazil and Portugal have clear advantages over the less industrialized countries. However, the increasing demand for eucalyptus market pulp on the world market will help to further develop the pulp industries of the four countries.
Also included in this research was a survey of eucalyptus market pulp attractiveness in the United States. Overall, pulp purchasers considered eucalyptus pulp to be equivalent to the more commonly used southern mixed hardwood and nofihern birch pulps.
