Illustrated in his talk with a map showing the spread of the spruce budworm through Canada and the Northeastern United States.
1945: Surveys showed spruce budworm spread as follows
1. Heavy, medium to light outbreaks in Canada
2. Medium outbreak in New York where 12,000 square miles are infested
3. Medium outbreak in Vermont
4. Light Outbreak in Maine
All present outbreaks in New York, Vermont, and Maine are light as compared with those outbreaks in Canada
