Provide an assessment of VERP effectiveness through gaining a deeper understanding of the perceptions of academic experts, park planners, and U.S. park managers. There have been few studies that take a qualitative approach with the goal of better understanding VERP effectiveness based on the diverse opinions of visitor management professionals. My hope is that through dialogue and narratives, common challenges and successes are identified that could in turn impact how the framework is applied and modified. This research will aid in identifying 'next steps' for managing the increasing number of visitors to protected areas, and identify future research that may help further address such challenges.
