Recognizing that intelligent forest management is dependent on sound information pertaining to stand development and growth, new and increasingly sophisticated approaches for obtaining this information are being developed. Illumination has become the most recent technique employed for this purpose. This study was designed to introduce the concept of continuous simulation to forest modeling. The system introduced also contains programs that provide visual displays of the trees modeled.
