Maine Timberland Owners' Committee
Letter from James Sewall Co. dated 1944: "Reporting briefly, I attended a joint meeting of American and Canadian entomologists at Greenfield, Massachusetts, on December 8. Twenty men were present representing the United States Bureau of Entomology and the Dominion of Canada Bureau, as well as the Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.
The meeting was called to discuss ways and means for using DDT this coming season to control spruce budworm devastation which is so severe now in Ontario and Quebec, and which threatens to wipe out Maine and New Brunswick fir-spruce stands.
