Deep in the Maine woods, University of Maine at Orono researchers are hard at work keeping their promises to find new and better techniques for sound forest management. And, based on what a group of paper company executives, state forestry officials, university personnel and others saw on a tour of test sites in September, researchers may not have as far to go as they once thought.
