The summarized results of the 400+ plot survey of the impact of the spruce budworm in Maine from 1975 tp 1979 are given below. The study objective, to document the growth and mortality effects of the spruce budworm in Maine's spruce-fir region, has been accomplished. Although not a primary objective, indications of policy and efficacy of insecticide applications were also obtained. To adequately summarize the results of this 5-year study and still avoid exhaustive duplication or omissions is difficult; however, we will mention a few highlights of the analyses.
