A field study was designed during the spring of 1982 to detect an eventual impact on the forest bird populations of aminocarb formulated in vegetable oil and sprayed twice at 52g A.I./ha. The mapping technique was chosen to outline bird territories before and after the sprays. No significant decrease in the number of birds was noted. Rather, many new territories were outlined after the sprays due to late migrating birds. No short-term impact was detected on the forest birds due to the insecticide.
