Between September 1973 and June 1975 a study was made of deer habitat in northeastern Waldo County and its use by deer. Farming in the area has been steadily declining for at least the last 110 yr. For the last 25 yr a steady 1-2% of the area has been cut in timber operations each year. This has created and maintained a diverse habitat which is highly favorable to deer.
