The range of terrestrial vertebrates breeding in inland Maine were defined based upon observations, literature, and expert review. Seven mammal ranges were related positively to temperature and productivity, and six were positively associated with snowfall and elevation. Many bird ranges were positively associated with temperature and productivity and negatively with snowfall, but some were relaed oppositely.
