Banding and recovery data for the American Eider (Somalerie mollissima dresseri Sharpe), covering the years 1923 to 1972, were analyzed in order to determine migrational patterns and wintering areas, to investigate migrational homing, to estimate mortality rates, to determine the distribution of the harvest and estimate harvest rates, and to make an indirect population estimate.
